Keep Your Home FRESH with our Top Tips!

We all could use some Cleaning Hacks, especially in the winter! Our janitorial services are second to none, and we're always looking for ways to help commercial and governmental clients keep their properties clean and well-maintained.

But we also know that many people struggle with keeping their homes clean, especially during the winter months. That's why we've enlisted the help of our MoeHill Mavens to provide some helpful tips for everyday people. Here are a few of their top recommendations:

1. Use natural cleaning products: Many commercial cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to your health and the environment. Instead, try using natural alternatives like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice.

• Vinegar: Use white vinegar to clean glass surfaces, remove hard water stains, and sanitize kitchen countertops and floors.

• Baking soda: Sprinkle baking soda on carpets and rugs before vacuuming to remove odors, use as a scouring agent for cleaning sinks and bathtubs, and add to laundry to boost cleaning power.

• Lemon juice: Use lemon juice to remove stains from cutting boards, polish metal fixtures, and freshen up the garbage disposal.

2. Focus on high-touch areas: During the winter months, it's especially important to clean high-touch areas like doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls. These areas can harbor germs and bacteria, so be sure to clean them regularly.

• Use a microfiber cloth and natural cleaning solution to wipe down doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls.

• Consider using disinfecting wipes to clean high-touch areas more frequently, especially if someone in your household is sick.

3. Declutter regularly: It's easy for clutter to accumulate during the winter months, but a cluttered home can also be a dirty home. Make sure to declutter regularly and donate or dispose of items that you no longer need.

• Start with small decluttering projects, such as cleaning out a junk drawer or organizing a closet, to build momentum.

• Set a timer for 15-20 minutes and focus on one area at a time.

• Sort items into three piles: keep, donate/sell, and throw away.

4. Vacuum frequently: Winter weather can bring in a lot of dirt and debris, so make sure to vacuum your carpets and rugs frequently. This will help keep your home looking and smelling fresh.

• Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter to trap dust, dirt, and allergens.

• Vacuum high-traffic areas like entryways, living rooms, and hallways more frequently.

• Don't forget to vacuum furniture, especially if you have pets.

At MoeHill Trashout LLC, we're committed to helping our clients keep their properties clean and well-maintained, no matter what the season. By incorporating these tips into your winter cleaning routine, you can create a cleaner, healthier, and more organized home. Stay tuned for more helpful tips from the MoeHill Mavens!
